Who's Who in the DC Universe (binder edition) #16
February 1992
Ambush Bug's bio appears as the very last page of the very last issue of this series. The gag is that he has been the guy dressing up as all the other heroes for their Who's Who photo shoots. The bio describes the most commonly-accepted origin story, that of Brum-El and the cosmic laundry and Irwin Schwab's decision to become a super-hero.
BUG FACT: His height is listed as 1" to 9", depending on the size of the panel.

Ambush Bug Nothing Special #1
September 1992
Keith Giffen - plots and pencils, Robert Loren Fleming - scripter, Al Gorden - inker, John Costanza - letterer, Anthony Tollin - colorist, Michael Eury - editor, Julius Schwartz - goodwill ambassador
Ambush Bug gets his resume together and travels throughout the DCU trying to talk various heroes into letting him join their respective books. When everyone turns him down, he decides to go after Julius Schwartz's job... that of DC Comics' Goodwill Ambassador. When Julie stops the Bug at every turn, he decides to up his profile by getting into DC's big summer crossover. When he can't summon a proper Eclipso from a black diamond, he gives up... only to find out that Julie has been messing with DC continuity and rubbing out old characters like Captain Carrot and Sugar and Spike. After that, the whole book falls into a series of digression gags.
