Lobo Unbound #5
March 2004
Keith Giffen - writer, Alex Horley - artist, Tom Orzechowski - letterer, Harvey Richards - asst. editor, Joan Hilty - editor
It's a rather ignominious return to the DCU for the Bug. He finally finds Lobo... albeit in the middle of an M-rated combat sequence. Despite his attempts to warn Lobo about the Moyl Men (?), Ambush Bug gets stomped flat in the fight. He's still talking at the end of the issue, but for a while it looks like Giffen has brought him back only to kill him in a dopey Lobo miniseries.
BUG FACT: Ambush Bug's quote in the clipping below pretty much says it all aout this comic.

Legion #31
May 2004
Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Keith Giffen - storytellers, Al Milgrom - inks, Sno-Cone - colors, Rob Leigh - letters, Stephen Wacker - editor
Third-string Legionnaires Gear and Chuck "Bouncing Boy" Taine are on cleaning duty, and their attempt to slack through the job results in trouble. I don't read Legion, so I don't know how this self-contained story fits in with the rest of the run, but it feels very very similar to Giffen's classic Justice League stuff. Substitute Blue Beetle and Booster Gold for Gear and Chuck and it will all be crystal clear. Ambush Bug's antennae show up randomly in a crowd scene. (Appearance reported by Ambush Bug Agent #011, Scott.)
BUG FACT: This may very well be the first Giffen-drawn Ambush antennae since 92's Nothing Special. Whoop whoop!

Lobo Unbound #6
May 2004
Keith Giffen - writer, Alex Horley - artist, Tom Orzechowski - letterer, Harvey Richards - asst. editor, Joan Hilty - editor
You get the feeling that this entire series has been leading up to exactly one panel: the one with Lobo's bloody foreskin. That aside, Ambush Bug finishes out this miniseries alive and well.

Captain Marvel #25
September 2004, published by Marvel Comics
From Agent #025, Fabian Ironside: "Ambush Bug appears in Captain Marvel (the Marvel title) #25 (or, #60 in the alternate numbering) from September 2004. It's drawn by Keith Giffen too. In a story (by Peter David) redolent of the Ambush Bug tradition (breaking down the fourth wall, full of insider jokes about the industry etc.) Captain Marvel learns from a cosmic entity that his title is being discontinued. Ambush Bug is one of the movers disposing of scenery - in this case, the original Mar-Vell's tombstone."
Sounds like a great one! I need to find a copy of this.
